they shall be like wool.”

In 2021, Taylor Swift did something amazing. She was locked into a restrictive and unfair record contract, and so she went back in the studio and re-recorded several of her old albums, effectively replacing the earlier versions. These new tracks, called “Taylor’s Version” propelled her beyond superstar status, and allowed her to regain the rights to her songs. Pretty clever!

If Taylor can do it, why not us?

Would you like to record new versions of your past mistakes? Lay down some new tracks and chart a new path? I know I’d like to. I don’t want to just learn from my past mess-ups, I want to remake them into something better.

If you’re searching for a new deal, God is signing people up left and right. With God on your team, not only do you retain full creative control of your life, but on those occasions when you’ve blown it, God will actually help you release a new version.

This passage from Isaiah speaks of a God who is willing and ready to help you reclaim your life after a mistake. The crimson stain will become white as snow. This new “YOU Version” will better reflect the person you want to be.

Taylor once said, “You are the only one who gets to decide what you will be remembered for.” Those are good words, although I know someone who remembers all of you, both the mistakes and the victories.

God remembers and loves you.
